Some pages on this site contain affiliate links. If you click one and buy the product, the seller pays us a commission. You pay nothing extra — the price is the same as it would be had you arrived any other way.

Every affiliate link on this site carries an rel="sponsored" attribute, and every page containing one is labelled ADVERTORIAL — PAID ADVERTISEMENT at the top, before the headline. A disclosure also appears immediately next to each commercial link. This follows the US Federal Trade Commission's Endorsement Guides, which require material connections to be disclosed clearly and conspicuously — near the recommendation, not buried in a footer.

What we are not

We are not the seller. We do not manufacture, ship, bill for, or support any product mentioned on this site. Orders are placed with the manufacturer and processed by its payment provider. Refunds, guarantees, shipping and customer service are the seller's responsibility and are governed by the seller's terms — not ours. Where we describe a guarantee, we are reporting the seller's stated policy, and we tell you to read the current terms yourself before ordering, because the seller can change them and we do not control that.

We are also not a review site. We do not publish independent verdicts, rankings or ratings of products we are paid to promote, because presenting paid advertising as an impartial review would be deceptive.

Editorial independence

Our editorial articles — the pieces under Label Literacy, Ingredients, Evidence and Buying Basics — contain no affiliate links and no commercial calls to action. No advertiser reviews, approves, or has any input into them. They are the majority of what we publish, by design.

Being paid does not entitle an advertiser to a claim we believe to be false. Our Editorial Standards list the things we will not write on a paid page, and we will decline a placement rather than write one.
