Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 18, 2026

Short version: the only personal information we ask for is your email address, and only if you choose to join our newsletter; analytics respect your regional privacy rights; and we pass an anonymous click identifier to the seller so a purchase can be credited to us.

What we collect

We do not operate accounts, and browsing this site requires no personal information. There is no order form on this site — purchases happen on the seller's website, never on ours.

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write, and we use it only to answer you.

Newsletter signup (optional)

Some pages offer a free checklist and an email newsletter. If you enter your email address there, we use it to send you the checklist and our email series about reading supplement labels — that is the only purpose. Consent is confirmed by double opt-in: nothing is sent until you click the confirmation link we email you first.

  • Who processes it: newsletter delivery is handled by Brevo, our email service provider, acting as a processor. Your address is stored there.
  • What we keep on our side: a pseudonymous log entry (a one-way hash of the address plus the advertising label of the page you signed up on), kept up to 90 days.
  • Affiliate content: some newsletter emails contain affiliate links, always disclosed in the email.
  • Leaving: every email has a one-click unsubscribe link, effective immediately; you can also write to us and we delete your address entirely.

Analytics and cookies

We use privacy-respecting web analytics to understand which pages are read. In regions where the law requires opt-in consent, nothing loads before you agree — the consent banner defaults to denied. In the United States, where the law works on an opt-out basis, measurement runs by default and you can opt out at any time using the "Privacy choices" link in the footer of every page.

California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)

California residents have the right to know what personal information we collect (the categories above: an optional email address, pseudonymous measurement data, and an anonymous advertising click identifier), the right to delete it, and the right to opt out of "sharing" for cross-context advertising. We do not sell personal information. To exercise any of these rights, use the "Privacy choices" link in the footer or write to hello@theingredientbrief.com. We do not discriminate against anyone who exercises these rights.

Advertising identifiers

If you arrive from an advertisement, the advertising network appends an anonymous click identifier to the URL. When you click an affiliate link, we pass that identifier to the seller so that a resulting purchase can be attributed to the advertisement — this is how we are paid, and it is the sole purpose.

The identifier is pseudonymous: it does not contain your name, email or any directly identifying information. We do not store it on your device — it is held in memory for the duration of your visit and passed along on the click, nothing more.

Third parties

When you click an affiliate link you leave this site and land on the seller's website, which has its own privacy policy governing everything that happens there, including checkout. We do not receive your payment details, your address, or your order contents — the seller and its payment provider handle those, and we never see them.

Your choices

  • Unsubscribe — one click at the bottom of any newsletter email, effective immediately.
  • Opt out of measurement — the "Privacy choices" link in the footer reopens the consent controls at any time. The site works identically either way.
  • Browser controls — you can block cookies and scripts; nothing here depends on them.
  • Ask us — write to hello@theingredientbrief.com and we will tell you what, if anything, we hold about you, and delete it on request.

Children

This site is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page.
